New away kit to be revealed

United's new away kit for the 2009/10 campaign will be officially unveiled on ManUtd.com at 08:00 BST on Wednesday morning.

The Reds will don the strip for the first time during Thursday's Audi Cup match in Germany against either AC Milan or Bayern Munich.

It will be on sale at outlets including Old Trafford's Megastore, and online at store.manutd.com, from Thursday 13 August, but fans will be able to pre-order it online from 08:00 BST on Wednesday.

Things We Learned from the Asian Tour

- The departure of Ronaldo does not seem to have had an effect on United's popularity.

- Michael Owen as well as being a good player, is also a marketing asset given the reception he got in all the games.

- Macheda and Owen are the two best finishers we've had at the club since RVN left.

- Anderson is never going to score in open play.

- Giggs is still our most gifted player and has at least 1 more year at the top level.

- Owen and Berbatov look like a natural partnership.

- If Nani can continue his preseason form into the season he could be a real asset this year and will get more playing time.

- Gibson is developing into a very good midfielder.

- Berbatov can be a huge player for us this season, hopefully in a more forward position.

- United are officially back to 4-4-2 and are looking good.

- Evra can shoot from distance, but not from 10 feet

- Macheda has all the potential to be our next greasy headed twat.

Manchester United whizkid Federico Macheda was robbed in his home by masked raiders yesterday.

Two thugs wearing balaclavas smashed their way in and demanded cash and jewellery from the 17-year-old Italian and one of his friends.

It is thought Macheda, nicknamed Kiko, lost a watch worth £20,000 along with other items.

His mate was hit over the head with a bottle and needed hospital treatment for minor cuts.

Police believe the attack may be linked to an earlier incident after the ex-Lazio prodigy was involved in a bust-up outside a private members' nightclub. Striker Macheda, who turns 18 next month, had been partying at the exclusive Circle Bar in Manchester city centre.

Police answered an emergency call at 3.40am but would not confirm reports that the intruders were brandishing knives.

Wayne Rooney received 45 stitches to his ear in an shock emergency operation on holiday.
The Manchester United striker was rushed to hospital on Friday after falling over on rented yacht in St Tropez.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Rooney was reportedly 'larking around' with friends onboard the boat when the incident happened.
Rooney was taken to hospital in the morning after spending the previous night out with his pals.
A source at the hospital told the Mirror: 'Mr Rooney arrived at about 9am after an accident on the deck of a yacht.
'Part of his ear had been nearly sliced off. It was really difficult to sew back up because it was bleeding so profusely, so we called in a specialised cosmetic surgeon.
'The work was delicate but the operation was completely successful and the ear is expected to look no different once it has healed.'
Rooney is due to report for pre-season training with United this week, with extra pressure on his shoulders after the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.
